Dental Bridges
If you have lost a tooth due to decay or an accident, you no longer have to deal with the gap or wait until dentures are needed. With a dental bridge, the replacement tooth is supported by your remaining natural teeth on either side, providing a solution for missing teeth.
A dental bridge, also known as a fixed bridge or fixed partial denture, can be used to replace one or more missing teeth as long as your adjacent teeth are healthy enough to support the artificial ones.
The process of creating a dental bridge includes several steps to ensure the teeth surrounding the lost tooth remain healthy and aligned. The first step involves preparing the teeth on each side of the missing tooth for crowns. Next, a dental lab custom-fabricates your false tooth and crowns. Finally, the dentist places the artificial tooth and bridge, followed by the new crowns, to firmly hold the replacement tooth in place.
